The idyllic life of two brothers is permanently shattered when the Asing arrive at their village, Salar. Invading from afar, the Asing come to subjugate the people of Nusan, a peaceful island frequented by the monsoons. With little choice, the villagers of Salar find themselves under the heel of new masters.

Ammar, the older, knows only fury in his heart, wanting to fight and drive away the Asing from their home. Akem, the younger, believes there is a less violent solution. Yet, despite their differences, both dream of one day seeing Nusan free again.

As tensions escalate, the brothers have no choice but to leave Salar to save their captive father. A task both are barely old enough to partake on their own. Along the way, Ammar and Akem encounter a mysterious figure who grants them supernatural powers. Now marked by the spirits, and equipped with unique abilities, the brothers must work together to accomplish their goal.

Little do they know, fate has a different plan, and saving their father is only just the beginning. What lies ahead is a journey fraught with hardship, heartache and death.
